We got this for our son for his 5th birthday. He has the 'other" buzz that the wings don't pop out. so he really wanted this one.
Great story character toy March 23, 2010 M. Schroeder (Santa Rosa, CA. United States) I love everything about Pixar. The Toy Story theme is the ultimate in childrens toys. The age recommendation is about 4 if I remember correctly, but my toddler loves it and I can't bring myself to separate him from his favorite toy. I keep a close eye on him 'just in case', but I have had Buzz about 2 weeks and it's still in one piece. My opinion is that for a toy, it feels pretty durable. The only faults (and I still give it 5 stars) are 1) loose stickers. Every Buzz on the shelf had stickers that were not pressed firmly in place so I knew I would need to finish the job. I missed pressing one sticker down and it eventually got dust and dirt under it and so I'll likely lose that sticker eventually unless I can find a glue or some way to repair it. 2) The wings on ours aren't easy to align so they might make for a little frustration. On the other hand, the wings are 'self repairing'. I thought mine had broke at one time, but after pulling them apart and folding them, it reset itself. Great job to whom ever engineered that. 3) PAINTED PLASTIC! The only thing worse than painted plastic is chrome plated plastic :( The paint seems to scuff off pretty easy, even rubbing off on my fingertips. 4) Wire tied to the box. Not so bad really, but one wire was wired through the figure and had to be cut to remove it from the box and required tools to remove the remaining wire. I think the issues are minor enough that I can still give 5 stars. It is the best toy in our home. Good job, Pixar!
Fun but already broken. February 4, 2010 Love My Kids (USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this for my friend's son for Christmas. She says that he still really loves it and plays with it all the time. And all of his little friends like to play with it too. But, the wing already doesn't work right. I would have expected it to last a little longer than a month. My older daughter had one of the original buzz light year toys several years ago and she played with it for years and it is still in one piece. I guess "they" really just don't make toys like they used to.
my son's fav. toy! February 3, 2010 Kathryn Bladgettt I'm thinking about buying a second one just in case something ever happens to the first one! ever since my son opened this toy on Christmas he has been IN LOVE! It is a durable toy although the right wing falls loose a lot (my son takes him EVERYWHERE so it might just be due to the abuse of a 2 year old). I would def. recommend this toy to anyone.
Play gently February 3, 2010 Disappointed Mom (Parkersburg, WV United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Play gently...not an easy task for preschool boys! In just over a month, Buzz has lost an arm and a leg. He still talks, but he's not much of a superhero without a left arm or leg. Hope he was a righty!
