Fun but already broken. February 4, 2010 Love My Kids (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my friend's son for Christmas. She says that he still really loves it and plays with it all the time. And all of his little friends like to play with it too. But, the wing already doesn't work right. I would have expected it to last a little longer than a month. My older daughter had one of the original buzz light year toys several years ago and she played with it for years and it is still in one piece. I guess "they" really just don't make toys like they used to.
my son's fav. toy! February 3, 2010 Kathryn Bladgettt I'm thinking about buying a second one just in case something ever happens to the first one! ever since my son opened this toy on Christmas he has been IN LOVE! It is a durable toy although the right wing falls loose a lot (my son takes him EVERYWHERE so it might just be due to the abuse of a 2 year old). I would def. recommend this toy to anyone.
Play gently February 3, 2010 Disappointed Mom (Parkersburg, WV United States) Play gently...not an easy task for preschool boys! In just over a month, Buzz has lost an arm and a leg. He still talks, but he's not much of a superhero without a left arm or leg. Hope he was a righty!
Could be so much better. February 2, 2010 A. Cardone First, I'm tired of all these toys that are packaged with tons and tons of plastic wires that wrap around the toy and go through an inner box.
It took me about 15 minutes to liberate Buzz from his packaging. Because not only are there lots of plastic wires to cut through, but they put tape over all the wire's knots so you can't cut them from the back of the box. Rather, I have to go and get a pair of diagonal cutters from the garage and carefully start snipping the wires from the front - nice and close to Buzz.
Second, the deployable wings don't work all that well. Sometimes they fold up, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they deploy, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they fully extend, sometimes they don't. But here's the worst part...the wing deployment button on Buzz's chest...never works. I'm thinking I may have damaged one of the wings as I tried to pull Buzz away from the plastic formed cradle in the box.
One day my four year old boy is going to be a teenager. When he decides to rebel or lash out I'm going to sit his butt down and force him to listen to all my stories about how I spent hour after hour taking toys out of packaging for him to play with. That should take about six hours.
Just ok February 1, 2010 Kari Williams (Waynesville, NC USA) Well my daughter loves Toy Story and so I got her this for Christmas. She has played with it a couple times and the wing is already broken. It's just hanging from poor Buzz. She didn't realize that you had to press the button to open the wings and barely pulled it out, with her 3year old power. Oh well Buzz really can't fly now, but he's cute.
Oh and what I thought was funny was the survey asked educational value?!?!?! Was it suppose to be educational? I thought it was just a toy! :)
